The Opportunity

We are a looking for an encouraging person to provide support to our predominantly female customers recovery journey in community outreach and centre based settings.

The role focuses on empowering our customers to be independent community members who are connected to their family, friends and culture. By promoting positive lifestyle choices, we aim to enhance the wellbeing of our customers.

This role is for someone who wants to help improve the cultural and family connections of people in the indigenous community. It is for someone who is willing to learn and grow in a role that is focused on empowering people.

This is a full time permanent employment opportunity, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Planning with customers their support recovery journey
  • Connecting customers with their families and culture
  • Person centred case management
  • Developing individual support plans
  • Encouraging independent community participation
  • Building positive networks in the community
  • Completing detailed administration, notes and reports on customer progress

 

Our ideal candidate:

  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Able to empathise and connect with Aboriginal women
  • Passionate about empowering people
  • Supports family and cultural community connections
  • Positive written and verbal communication skills
  • Has experience supporting customers with mental illness
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Current NSW drivers licence
  • Enjoys a challenge

This position requires an Australian Federal Police Check and Working with Children’s Check be completed before starting in the role.
