The Opportunity

We're looking for caring and motivated individuals to support our customers in a residential setting.

We have part time and casual opportunities available that operate on a 24/7 working roster.

Working in our Lismore area you will support customers living within the suburb of Lismore.

You will report to the rostered site Team Leader in our Supportive and Caring Segment. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering quality support to customers with complex health needs
  • Supporting customers using a person centred / recovery oriented approach
  • Promoting and empowering customers to increase their level of independence
  • Providing hands on support to customers including personal care
  • Managing challenging behaviours
  • Maintaining up to date quality reports and records using a variety of computer based applications

 

Skill and Experience:

  • Experience managing challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for the sector and supporting vulnerable people
  • Technical literacy with proven ability to use Microsoft Office and systems for reporting
  • Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health or Disability or equivalent industry experience
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster (including active night shifts)
  • Own transport and willingness to travel between suburb locations
  • Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC and first aid certificate that meet New Horizons employment criteria prior to commencing with us
  • Experience working with people with high care needs
