The Opportunity

We have a number of casual Support Worker opportunities available.

Working for a NFP at the forefront of innovation means you won't be restricted helping customers in a traditional funding program! Our staff support a variety of customers to enhance life skill building; which means plenty of opportunity to extend your industry experience supporting people with a person centred approach!

We have a variety of opportunities operating across a 24 hour care roster, 7 days per week. Working in our Central Coast area you will support customers in the surrounding suburbs.

You will report to the rostered site Team Leader in our Supportive and Caring Customer Segment. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering quality support to customers with complex health needs
  • Person centred / recovery oriented planning with customers
  • Promoting and empowering independence
  • Providing hands on support to customers including personal care
  • Managing some challenging behaviours
  • Maintaining up to date quality reports and records using computer

 

Skill and Experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for the sector and supporting vulnerable people
  • Technical literacy with proven ability to use Microsoft Office and systems for reporting
  • Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health or Disability or equivalent industry experience
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster (including sleep over shifts)
  • Own transport and willingness to travel between suburb locations
  • Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC and first aid certificate that meet New Horizons employment criteria prior to commencing with us.
