The Opportunity
We're looking for a caring and passionate person to support our customers recovery journey in community outreach settings.
The position available is a full time 6 month maximum term opportunity based in Gosford. Working hours will be between the hours of 8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
You will report to the rostered site Team Leader in our Central Coast Hub. Key responsibilities will include:
- Person centred / recovery oriented planning with customers
- Promoting and empowering independence
- Assisting customers with activities of daily living
- Undertaking travel using various modes of public transport
- Participating in a range of activities within the community such as shopping, health and wellbeing activities, and attending appointments
- Writing and developing individual support plans for your customers;
- Managing some challenging behaviours
Skill and Experience:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for the sector and supporting vulnerable people
- Technical literacy with proven ability to use Microsoft Office and systems for reporting
- Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health or Disability or equivalent industry experience
- A current NSW Driver Licence
- Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC and first aid certificate that meet New Horizons employment criteria prior to commencing with us.
