The Opportunity

We're looking for genuine and passionate individuals to support our customers recovery journey in community outreach settings.

We have casual and Full Time  opportunities supporting customers in Tweed Heads and its surrounding suburbs. Working hours will be across a 7 day rotating roster between the hours of 6am - 10pm (please note the Full Time opportunities are maximum term ending December 2017 with potential for extension).

You will report to the rostered site Team Leader in our Tweed Heads Hub.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Person centred / recovery oriented planning with customers
  • Promoting and empowering independence
  • Assisting customers with activities of daily living
  • Undertaking travel using various modes of public transport
  • Participating in a range of activities within the community such as shopping, health and wellbeing activities, and attending appointments
  • Contributing to the development of individual support plans for your customers;
  • Managing some challenging behaviours

 

Skill and Experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for the sector and supporting vulnerable people
  • Technical literacy with proven ability to use Microsoft Office and systems for reporting
  • Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health or Disability or equivalent industry experience
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
  • A current NSW drivers licence
  • Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC and first aid certificate that meet New Horizons employment criteria prior to commencing with us.
