The Opportunity

We're looking for passionate people to support our customers living with mental and disability concerns in the community.

We have full time, permanent opportunities based in North Ryde that support the Ryde and Hornsby hub in the Sydney region.

Working hours will be across a 7 day rotating roster – employees will be required to work weekends. The majority of working hours will be between 6am and 10pm.

If you are successful you will report to an Enabling and Life building Team Leader in our Ryde and Hornsby hub.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Person centred service delivery
  • Promoting and empowering independence
  • Assisting customers with activities of daily living
  • Undertaking travel using various modes of public transport
  • Participating in a range of activities within the community such as shopping, health and wellbeing activities, personal hygiene, domestic tasks  and attending appointments
  • Developing and implementing Person Centred plans for your customers;
  • Managing challenging behaviours

 

Skill and Experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Mental Health , highly desirable
  • Passion for the sector and supporting vulnerable people
  • Technical literacy with proven ability to use Microsoft Office and systems for reporting
  • Minimum Cert IV in Disability, Community Services or equivalent industry experience
  • Availability to work across a 7 day rotating roster
  • A current NSW drivers licence
  • Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC and first aid certificate that meet New Horizons employment criteria prior to commencing with us.
